Environmental Coordinator

The EH&S department of Janssen Pharmaceutica NV is recruiting an Environmental Coordinator. The position will be based in Beerse, Belgium. You will be part of the Environmental team of the EH&S campus Belgium and take up the formal role of Environmental coordinator for the Beerse and Olen site. You will take ownership of our environmental permit applications and follow-up end to end. You will also act as the campus Expert on waste topics. You report to the lead of EH&S Environmental expert center.

Environmental coordinator

  • You fulfill the formal role of Environmental Coordinator for the Beerse (5000 employees) and Olen (25 employees) sites.
  • You represent Janssen during environment related audits and inspections.
  • You give input in the creation/updating of relevant documents according to the requirements of Vlarem, J&J, BAT and ISO14001. You coordinate yearly environmental reporting, for example the IMJV.
  • You promote and further develop environmentally conscious sustainability policy, together with Campus Belgium and Global J&J partners.

Environmental Permit Coordinator

  • You coordinate the environmental permit applications for all sites in Belgium.
  • You follow-up end to end with all relevant parties (sites, government agencies, other J&J departments). You coordinate with our external consultants for specific advice.
  • You support the drafting of documents, like MER studies.

Principal Expert Waste

  • You are responsible for the further development and implementation of a sustainable waste policy for the Belgium campus.
  • You identify waste reduction opportunities in collaboration with internal partners and external experts and embed them in business processes.
  • You oversee compliance with relevant legislation, permits and internal rules and standards.
  • You give and prepare environment-related training and awareness campaigns.
  • You coordinate the waste vendor audit program for Campus Belgium .


Qualifications

What do we expect from you?

  • Master's degree, Industrial Engineer, Bio engineer, Civil Engineer or equivalent by experience.
  • Certified environmental coordinator A.
  • At least 5 years of confirmed experience.
  • Have a customer focused and proactive attitude.
  • A real great teammate and thrive in a complex organization.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and can deal with people at all levels within the organization.
  • Work very independently and know how to assess priorities. Take initiative and responsibility.
  • Good applied IT skills (SAP, Excel, MS Office).
  • Willing to travel (10%).
  • Good knowledge of Dutch and English is required (reading, writing and speaking). Knowledge of French is a plus.
